We have midterm break at my school this week, so we invited my friends over to make Jack o Lanterns for Halloween. We got a BIG surprise when Y's mummy brought over two ENORMOUS pumpkins! It took 4 Mums to get the big one out of the car. We had lunch then got stuck right in!
今週はスクールの秋休みだから、月曜日にハロウイーンのランタンを作ってみようと、友達をうちに呼んだ。Yちゃんのママが持ってきた巨大なカボチャをみて大きなサプライズでした。大きい方を車から降ろすだけでお母さんたち４人でしないと出来なかった！ランチを食べてから、早速中身を掘り出すことにしました。
ナイフはもちろん大人の仕事だ。
Of course the knifework was the adults job!
The stuff inside the pumpkin was yucky!
中身は気持ち悪い！頑張った後、自分たちで飾りをつけたケーキでお茶休憩！
A tea break with the cakes we made ourselves after all our hard work.
By which time our Mums had carved the final lanterns, based on our designs!食べ終わったら、お母さんたちが私たちの書いたデザインをもとに、ランタンを仕上げていた！

皆が帰る前にちょっとだけ公園で遊ぶ暇もあったから、完璧な一日！
With a wee while left over to play at the park before everyone went home, what a perfect end to the day!
The finished articles - this "small" one was only 20Kg!はい！出来上がり！ ー この「小さい」のは２０kgしかなかった！
